Guardian Dental Insurance Answers Need For Check Ups

With many years of experience in the insurance business, Guardian dental insurance can offer employers and employees a reason to get annual dental check ups, improving their overall health. With the cost of dental care rising, many people ignore that aspect of their health believing that regular brushing and flossing will take care of potential problems. It is not until a major problem develops that they realize the need for a plan that Guardian dental insurance can provide.

Many Guardian dental insurance plans are available to meet the needs of employers to offer insurance to their employees at affordable prices. However, when considering the cost of dental insurance, a person has to look beyond the monthly premiums to find a good deal. The annual deductible as well as any associated costs with dental care may take what appears to be a good deal and turn it into a money drain.

Annual deductible, for a family plan often lists individual deductibles, which means that for every person in the plan, until that deductible is met, the insurance will pay nothing. Once it is met, the insurance covers the expenses less any co-payments that can be as high as 50 percent, but typically are in the 10 to 20 percent range. With Guardian dental insurance options, the deductible can be lower and in some cases there will be one deductible that covers the entire family of subscribers.

Consider Annual Costs When Comparing Plans

Another consideration is any annual maximum benefit the insurance will pay. Some may be as low as $1,000 and once the premium costs, the deductible and co-payments are added up, the plan may not be such as great deal. With many Guardian dental insurance plans, the annual benefit can range as high as $5,000 depending on the plan chosen by the subscriber.

Many plans offered through Guardian dental insurance are operated with preferred provider networks with prices negotiated for services. The plan pays for the services based on a contracted fee schedule with the patient paying the difference. By visiting a network dentist, the different may be between 10 and 20 percent. While the subscriber is free to visit the dentist of choice, the fee difference may be as high as 60 percent.

With many dental plans, even those through Guardian dental insurance cosmetic procedures may not be covered, however under some network plans, a deduction for the service may be available.
